CBS News: Ronald Reagan Remembered
Ronald Reagan Remembered is a book and DVD set featuring CBS News photos and footage. The book opens with a timeline of Reagan's remarkable life. The introduction by Dan Rather is excellent and respectful in a surprising way. The book includes the text of some of Reagan's most important speeches including parts of his speech for Barry Goldwater in 1964, his Inaugural addresses, his address to the nation after the Challenger disaster, the 1987 speech at the Brandenburg Gate when he challenged Mr. Gorbachev to «tear down this wall» and his farewell address to the nation. The last third of the book is devoted to the memorials, to the many things said after his death by the most unlikely of admirers from all parts of the political spectrum.
If, like me, you consider Ronald Reagan a personal hero, you should do yourself a favor and get this book. If you don't consider him a personal hero, get this book and by the time you are done, you may.
