Cord Harper: Flight of the Raptor
I bought Flight of the Raptor from Cord Harper (the author) when he was selling it at the 2000 Missouri GOP Convention. It was a slow time so I was able to have a brief conversation with Mr. Harper who is a local Missouri author. I'm a bit disappointed that so far this is his only book. The book is a good read, plenty of suspense, interesting twists and turns. The plot centers on The Raptor, a supervirus engineered by a Russian virologist in the employ of Libyan terrorists.
Both Amazon reviewers gave this 5 stars. Interestingly one reviewer writing in January of 2001 saw it as «a quality political thriller that seems like a real possibility of occurring in a world where biological-chemical weapons exist.» How much more so with what we know now about terrorism and Qadafi's now dismantled WMD programs.

I also purchase Flight of the Raptor from Cord at the MO GOP convention. I agree it is a great book -- would make a great political thriller movie.
